I have been fishing the Outer Banks my whole life mainly with spinning gear. I have a Daiwa SALTIST STT30H Reel that I want to match up to a good rod for distance casting on the point. I will be down in the end of September for 3 weeks fishing and want to get more involved with casting from the surf. I was thinking of the Lamiglas surf pro casting 11' 2pc. I am 6'3" 250# and spend quite a bit of time in the gym during my non fishing time so I am not worried about physical ability limiting me to a shorter or lighter rod. I would like to stay under $200 if possible for the rod so I have more money to fish...
Any advice and sources are appreciated.
